0.1.10: Spells, Hotkeys, and Fixes
You can now equip spellbooks in your right hand, which allow you to cast spells with right-click! This is the first step towards a skill/spell system, and a big changeup for balance and gameplay. Real badasses might want to play on difficulty 2.
There is also a hotkey system, finally. Hover over an item in your inventory and push any key to bind it. Pushing that item's hotkey will equip or dequip it, without the need to open your inventory.
New Spells:
- Kinesis - Telekinetically move and crush a foe that is weaker than you.
- Meteor - Materialize and throw an explosive flaming rock.
- Tiny Sun - Throw a rapidly expanding ball of plasma that detonates upon collision.
- Gravity Sphere - Create a hyder-dense ball of juice that attracts and consumes enemies.
- Copy Weapon - Clone held weapon with increased velocity.
I'll keep adding spells as time goes on, I hope to have a ton of them that expand the lore and physics of the galaxy. Your suggestions are more than welcome! Some have suggested spells to weld monsters together, summon creatures, or just kill monsters in new ways. I want to get an ice, lightning, and soul system in the game soon.
Fixes:
- Spawning system has been improved, so monsters should be more common on the overworld.
- Rubber Ball Cannon is no longer useless!
- Overworld dirt is a little less painfully vibrant, don't worry, the rainbow soil will be back for a biome in the future!
Future Plans:
For the next couple updates I'm going to be working on optimizing the game to run better on everyone's computers, and hopefully allow me to squeeze some more action into the game. I'm going to rework the Doll System for what may be the last time, which should free me up to make more interesting monsters and items.
I'm also considering completely overhauling the stat system, which has not changed since 0.0.1. I'd like the community's input on this. My thought is to make it so that stats level up as you use them, and give the player some base stats: brain, muscle, sense, and spirit. I'll also be generally making new items and monsters, and trying to increase replayability, and diversity of the wilderness.

If you're still able to add more spells how about a spell that throws explosive skulls?
Or even a Teleportation Spell that allows you to teleport on a limited radius you point at
(idk if you can do it but I believe in ya :D)
hate to be the bearer of bad bugs but when in heck, the inventory no longer works correctly, at least for me.
nevermind, it appeared to be a one time bug, it's working now.
I found a technique for using the copy weapon spell where you can send a super fast stream of weapons towards an enemy (dealing MASSIVE amounts of damage) if you use the spell while flying straight towards them. I was using this on a huge stroll fiend, and as it was flying backwards it burst into flames. Not sure if it was because of how fast the stroll fiend was moving or if it was just a bug. If this isn't intentional though, I definitely suggest making it a feature. It was super sick
