0.2.12 ~ Paewol and Demo Version

Juice Galaxy Demo

Hello! It's been a sec, I hope everyone is doing really well.

This is a complex update, since it splits Juice Galaxy into two versions: the Demo and the Full Version.
In the demo, the player can explore the overworld and fight two bosses: the Creator and Mrs. Slitherss.

What's new in the Full Version:
  • New NPC: Paewol (spawnable via console)
  • New Hat: Monitor Hat
  • Improved fix for Mac GUI glitch
  • General logic to accommodate demo version alongside main game
Main differences in Demo Version:
  • Paywall forcefields around wilderness, Wawsp Nest, and Bubbletropolis
  • Certain items are off limits (and spawn more infrequently)
  • Toilet Realm and Dream Realm cannot be entered
  • Demo Gatekeeper NPC: Paewol
    • Spawns when player attempts something not available in the demo
    • Gives intro speech in graveyard after school
    • Gives outro speech in graveyard after bosses defeated
    • Woe to those who do not heed his warnings

Paewol is a friendly demo guide who shows up to explain paywalls to the player. He (probably) cannot die in the demo, but if you mess with him enough, he will get annoyed and obliterate you. In the full version, you can spawn him via the console and get your revenge.

Next up, I look forward to getting back to work on the main game. Thank you for playing!

I have an idea for the next update:

1: Elite enemies rework

  • Instead of elite enemies being bulkier versions of normal enemies, they can now do cool stuff (like shooting big balls similar to the Dreameater or Demo version Paewol, or zap capabilities)
  • Each elite enemy will have some Elite Points based on the elite enemies' level. Then they can buy some skills like ball shooting or zapping or burning or attack speed (for attack-based enemies like Derptera) or suck capabilities (for big-mouth enemies like Pollywog) or lunging power (Remember to add a cap!) (Note that all of this is done when the enemies spawn)
  • Elite enemies will have a weaker level scaling compared to regular enemies (so they don't become one-shotting damage sponges)
